I can't decide what point Angus is trying to make. 1. Efforts to control immigration are doomed? 2. We'll get economic benefits (rifles!) from immigration? 3. We should still try to keep smallpox out? 4. "Regular people" and immigrants should get the same status in law from the get-go?
If it's #4 then the complexion and history of Oklahoma would be very different -- and our historic shame would be far less.
